Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property and Burglary Tools: March 29, 7:55 a.m., 21st Avenue and Cabrillo Street
A report came in to dispatch concerning a suspicious male "casing" homes. Officers arrived at the scene and located a woman siting in a parked vehicle. In plain sight were two catalytic converters.
The woman said her male friend walked down the street to look for a friend. The 40-year-old male suspect was located at 20th Avenue and Balboa Street. Officers were able to ascertain that the man stole the converters in the Sunset District. He was transported to the police station and booked.
Robbery: March 28, 10:30 a.m., 17th Avenue and Geary Boulevard
A woman was walking when a light-colored SUV pulled up next to her and parked. The driver of the vehicle got out and approached the woman, who was holding her wallet.
The suspect grabbed the victim's wallet and then got back into his vehicle to escape.
Robbery: March 28, 6:37 p.m., Euclid and Collins Avenues
A woman was walking when a suspect jumped out from a slightly wooded area and grabbed her iPhone. When she started fighting to hold on to the phone, a second suspect grabbed her hair and pulled her to the ground, causing her to drop the phone.
The two teenage suspects, one male and one female, grabbed the phone and fled to a waiting silver sedan. They fled westbound on Geary Boulevard.
Hot Prowl Burglary: March 27, 2:55 a.m., 3200 Block of Geary Boulevard
The alarm at a business went off in the early morning hours, triggering a response by Richmond Station officers.
When they arrived at the scene, the officers noticed the glass front doors were smashed in and an interior door was kicked in. The officers went inside and discovered drawers had been opened and cabinet doors ripped off. They also discovered an exit door leading to another commercial building. When they went inside that building to investigate, they discovered a 26-year-old male suspect hiding under a desk. Located nearby was property taken from the first business the suspect entered.
The suspect was arrested and charged.
Drunk in Public, Resisting Arrest, Battery on a Police Officer: March 21, 1:25 a.m., 3900 Block of Geary Boulevard
Officers arrived at a bar on a report of a drunken brawl. They quickly separated the warring parties, but one woman was drunk and belligerent. She kept walking away from the officers so one of the officers tried to restrain her. The 28-year-old suspect thrashed and struggled with the officer before being subdued. When the officers tried to put the suspect in the patrol car, she kicked an officer in the chest.
The suspect was transported to the police station and booked.
Burglary: March 17, Between 2:45 and 3:05 p.m., 6200 Block of Geary Boulevard
Two suspects gained entry to a church through an unlocked side door and forced open a small desk where donations are dropped off.
The donations were missing.
Outstanding Warrant: March 6, Golden Gate Park
Officers on horseback discovered a homeless encampment with eight people sleeping on tarps spread across the ground. They also had a lit campfire.
One of the homeless campers, a 21-year-old female, had a dog, which lunged at the officers. A computer check revealed the woman had an outstanding warrant for her arrest so she was apprehended.
Attempted Robbery: March 4, 12:24 a.m., 14th Avenue and Clement Street
Two men who had been drinking were walking on Clement Street when one of the men accidently bumped a passerby, who was with two friends.
"What's your problem," the bumped man said, before pulling out a handgun and telling the two victims to "empty your wallets."
The two victims ran from the scene and called the police.
