25th Anniversary
Concealed modestly behind a large row of bushes and a tall
cypress tree, the red ceramic-shingled roofs and green trim
of the Richmond District Neighborhood Center's (RDNC) Spanish-style
bungalows create a relatively unassuming facade. Yet, the three
beige stucco-covered buildings are home to the central nervous
system of many area programs.

New Playland Museum
to Open
My memories of Playland at the Beach date from the early '60s,
when I first arrived in San Francisco. It was my habit, as I
roamed the country, to take bus tours of the cities I visited
before starting to look for work.
Organization Helps People

Beginning in 1954, the National Association for the Visually
Handicapped has grown from founder Loraine Markey's old storefront
office on Balboa Street to a program that serves people in 28
senior centers across the Western United States, Alaska and
Hawaii.
