The Emerging Richmond: This 1906 photograph, shot from
Twin Peaks, shows Golden Gate Park, the Richmond District and
the Presidio Army Post (before some of the forests were planted).
In the foreground, the SF Conservatory of Flowers, located on
JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park, can be seen. The Chutes (left
foreground), which was billed as the "largest resort in
America," had a 350-foot-long ride that landed in water
from 1902 to 1907. It was located at Fulton Street and 10th
Avenue.
