Museum Told to Leave its
Cliff House Location
Laughing Sal has made San Francisco residents smile for 60 years, but
she will only continue the task for about six more months before the
nostalgic landmark and 160 of her antique friends at Musee Mechanique
are evicted from the Cliff House.
Injury Traffic Accidents
on the Rise in District
"People should slow down when they see a yellow light, not speed up,"
said Capt. Marsha Ashe of the Richmond District Police Station, referring
to a common driving problem in the neighborhood. A problem so common,
it is one of the top reasons that injury-related traffic accidents remain
high in the Richmond.

Richmond District residents sent library officials back to the drawing
board when they unanimously rejected two plans to expand and remodel
the Richmond Branch Library - plans that would dramatically change the
way the neighborhood facility operates.

"I see it as
art," said Steve Yamane, describing his work as a filmmaker. Residing
in the Richmond District since his college days, Yamane's most recent
accomplishment will be featured at the 20th annual SF International
Asian-American Film Festival in March.
