Realtor's Sixth Ellis Act Eviction in 12 Years
During the first week of the new year, at least 11 long-time tenants in a Sunset District apartment building found out they face an Ellis Act eviction.

Long-lost 'Breakers'Roadhouse at Ocean Beach Recently Unmasked
The apartment building at 1536 La Playa is ugly, or, to be charitable, plain. Its flat facade of beige stucco is a massive dull square on the ocean-fronting streetscape, with nothing to offer in looks beyond rows of sliding aluminum-sash windows.

Changes to Bus Routes Proposed
Numerous and significant changes to bus service in the Sunset District are proposed by the San Francisco Planning Department and the SF Municipal Transportation Authority (Muni) in a recently-released "Initial Study of the Transit Effectiveness Program (TEP)."

Snake Slithers In for Chinese New Year
Lanterns, dragons, masks and drums - in the frigid days of the New Year San Franciscans need not look far to find celebration. Long after most people are done with New Year's celebrations, locals are gearing up to participate in one of San Francisco's biggest traditions. Attracting more than 3 million spectators and TV viewers annually, the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade is the biggest of its kind in the world. This year's parade, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23, will honor the Year of the Snake with lion dancers, marching bands, intricate floats and a 268-foot-long Golden Dragon.
