        It's Been a Long Race, But 
          Sava Pool Nearing Finish Line 
        Sava Pool at Wawona Street and 19th Avenue has existed in a state of 
          disrepair and instability for years, according to community leaders, 
          and a campaign to demolish and rebuild the deteriorating neighborhood 
          recreational center is underway. 
        Hillside Near Steps Landscaped 
          
        The 16th Avenue Hillside Landscaping Project was a community effort, 
          completed in May, which created a garden on a sandy city-owned slope 
          of the Golden Gate Heights next to the colorful 16th Avenue tiled steps, 
          located at Moraga Street. 
        Helping Mothers Navigate Childbirth 
          
        The miracle of childbirth is a truly wonderful and marvelous event, 
          but sometimes some intervention is needed. This is where midwives, doctors 
          and nurses usually step in to help with delivery. 
        First Responders Get Ready 
          
        Sixteen members of the Sunset/Parkside Neighborhood Emergency Response 
          Team (NERT) toured the firehouse of Engine Co. 40 recently to learn 
          how they can assist when disaster strikes.
