Bridge to Past: The photograph, taken at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park about 1900, shows the stone bridge built for the Midwinter Exposition in 1894. In the upper left, Sweeny's Observatory can be seen at the top of Strawberry Hill. It was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake.
