New Boulevard a Public Spectacle: On Oct. 24, 1920, Sloat Boulevard was officially opened to traffic.
The event brought numerous local residents, and police officers on horseback,
out to the boulevard's terminus at Ocean Beach to witness the city's progress taming the dunes.
