Lakeshore Plaza Problems
Continue, Neighbors Peeved
When representatives from Lakeshore Plaza Shopping Center's owners,
A.M.B. Property Corporation, and their maintenance company, M.M.I. Realty
Services, met with representatives from Lakeshore Acres Improvement
Club (L.A.I.C.) in Mayor Willie Brown's office last summer, it appeared
as if the neighbors' grievances would finally be resolved.
Boxing a Knockout in Return
to Irish Cultural Center
Fast, ferocious punches flew at the United Irish Cultural Center's Fight
Night Feb. 15 as 550 spectators cheered the return of amateur boxing
to the Sunset District. The boxing match was the second in what may
become a series of fights sponsored by the Irish Center at 45th Avenue
and Sloat Boulevard, near the SF Zoo. Advance tickets for the event
sold out in two hours.
Stonestown Village Plans
Under Scrutiny
Earlier this year, Stonestown Village project manager A.F. Development
presented a scaled-down proposal which scrapped plans for Stonestown
Galleria retail expansion, a 12-story residential tower and two five-level
parking garages.

San Francisco Recreation and Park Department officials laid out a bleak
scenario for the City's parks and recreation programs because of growing
budget shortfalls at a recent community meeting held at the Sunset Recreation
Center.

she will only continue the task for about six more months before the

are evicted from the Cliff House.

Filmmaker
to Debut Creation at International Film Fest
"I see it as art," said Steve Yamane, describing his work as a filmmaker.
Residing in the Richmond District since his college days, Yamane's most
recent accomplishment will be featured at the 20th annual SF International
Asian-American Film Festival in March.
