Scam: Sept. 15, 11:30 a.m., 38th Avenue and Fulton Street
A 79-year-old man walked by a bus stop and saw a suspect standing there. The suspect stopped the victim and told him he was looking for a church as he had received an inheritance and wanted to donate money. Meanwhile, a second suspect approached and joined the conversation. The victim, unaware that the suspects were acting in concert, accepted an invitation to go with suspects in a vehicle to find a church. While driving around, the one suspect showed the victim a satchel of money that was his "inheritance" and asked the victim and the second male to show their money as a good-faith gesture so the suspect could trust them to deliver the inheritance to the church. They drove to a bank where one suspect was to withdraw money. When the suspect returned, the victim went to his bank and withdrew $14,000. The suspects dropped the victim off back at the bus stop after giving him a satchel of "money." They departed and the victim opened the satchel and found newspaper instead of money.

Marijuana Cultivation: Sept. 15, 12:37 p.m., 600 Block of 44th Avenue
Officers responded to a call of a male running around naked and possibly under the influence of a narcotic. When they arrived, the officers were directed to a specific residence by witnesses where they observed blood drops on the stairs. They located the male inside the home with numerous lacerations to his body. Also discovered was a marijuana growing operation in the house. The 30-year-old male was transported to the hospital for treatment for his injuries and then he was booked on the cultivation charge.

Armed Robbery: Sept. 11, 7:25 p.m., 2400 Block of Balboa Street
A man walked onto a business with a gun and announced: "This is a robbery." After threatening to shoot the employees, the suspect took money and fled in an unknown direction. He had a dark shirt wrapped around his face and was wearing a dark vest and blue jeans.

Assault: Sept. 6, 2:49 a.m., Second Avenue and Geary Boulevard
A man who had an altercation in a nearby business was assaulted by an unknown assailant, who stabbed the victim several times before fleeing in a silver vehicle. When officers arrived, the man was bleeding profusely and an ambulance was summoned. The investigation is ongoing.

Public Brawl: Sept. 5, 1:57 a.m., Sixth Avenue and Clement Street
Officers responded to the scene where at least eight males were fighting in the street. When officers arrived, the men took off running. One suspect, who was cut and bleeding from the face, was located. He said he was "jumped." The suspect refused to provide other details about the combat and was transported to the hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.

Bomb Scare: Sept. 4, 3:37 p.m., Golden Gate Park Music Concourse
A report concerning suspicious containers was phoned in. Officers met a park ranger, who pointed out two containers wrapped in tape lying near a park bench. The SF Police Department's bomb squad determined that the packages were harmless.

Attempted Burglary: Aug. 31, 2 p.m., 5400 Block of Geary Boulevard
A man who stole an item from a business was confronted by the business owner. The suspect, who had stolen from the same merchant in the past, dropped the item and took off running. An officer stopped a Muni bus that had just left the area and discovered the suspect on board. A witness on the bus said the suspect threw an object under his seat and then moved to a new location after the officer turned on his flashing lights to pull the bus over. The officers located a knife under the seat where the suspect had been sitting. The 31-year-old male was charged with burglary and having a concealed weapon.

Indecent Exposure, Resisting Arrest, Assault, Being Under the Influence of a Narcotic: Aug. 28, 8:10 p.m., Golden Gate Park
Officers responded to Middle Drive West in Golden Gate Park concerning a naked man running through the streets. They discovered the suspect, who was completely nude except for black socks, and ordered him to lie on the ground. The 23-year-old suspect maintained a combative stance for a while before complying with the officer's demands. While the officers were trying to handcuff the suspect, he suddenly kicked his legs, striking two officers. With the assistance of back-up units, officers were finally able to subdue the suspect, who said he had taken LSD. He was taken to the hospital to be medically evaluated.
