Slipping and Sliding: The Chutes was the "largest pleasure resort in America" while it was in operation from 1902 - 1907. The 350-foot-long ride was located on Fulton Street between 10th and 11th avenues and featured an ice skating rink, dance hall, shooting gallery, penny arcade, minature bowling alley and various animal exhibits, including reptiles and monkeys. The original chutes in San Francisco was located at Haight and Cole streets and opened in 1895.
