The Emerging Richmond: This 1906 photograph, shot from Twin Peaks, shows Golden Gate Park, the Richmond District and the Presidio Army Post (before some of the forests were planted). In the foreground, the SF Conservatory of Flowers, located on JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park, can be seen. The Chutes (left foreground), which was billed as the "largest resort in America," had a 350-foot-long ride that landed in water from 1902 to 1907. It was located at Fulton Street and 10th Avenue.
