Soccer Fields Get OK for New Turf, Lights

More than three hours of testimony before the SF Recreation and Park Commission on April 15 demonstrated how passionate people have become regarding plans to upgrade the soccer fields in Golden Gate Park. Despite the repeated requests for creating an Environmental Report before making a final decision, the commissioners unanimously approved a plan to install synthetic turf and light stands to facilitate night games.
